Licenses¶

PortareOS is a Linux distribution for the Retroid Pocket Nova, originally forked from ROCKNIX. Components are provided under their respective licenses. This distribution includes components licensed for non-commercial use only.

Portare and PortareOS Branding¶

All rights in the original Portare and PortareOS branding, logos, and brand artwork are reserved by their owner. No permission is granted to use, reproduce, modify, or redistribute these assets, or to use the Portare or PortareOS names as branding for another product or service, without the owner's prior written permission. This applies to both commercial and non-commercial use, except where applicable law permits use without permission.

The owner retains the right to use the Portare and PortareOS branding commercially and to authorize its use by others. The software licenses in this repository do not grant rights to this branding.

Inherited ROCKNIX branding and images retain their Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License and original attribution.

Distribution Software¶

PortareOS software and scripts are provided under the licenses stated in their source files. Inherited software retains its original copyright notices and license terms.

Original software and scripts developed by the ROCKNIX team are licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL Version 2. The full license can be found in licenses/GPL-2.0-only.txt.

Bundled Works¶

All other software is provided under each component's respective license. These licenses can be found in the software sources or in this project's licenses folder. Modifications to bundled software and scripts by PortareOS or the ROCKNIX team are licensed under the terms of the software being modified.
